Zamość Poland

Zamość, often called the Pearl of the Renaissance and the City of Arcades, is a fortress town founded in 1580 surrounding a luxurious residential estate. The creator and, in today’s terms, the developer of the city was Jan Sariusz Zamoyski, the Grand Chancellor of the Crown, a magnate and statesman, one of the wealthiest people in world history. With purchasing power at least twice that of Bill Gates and an excellent education, he was able to make his dreams a reality. One of the most renowned Italian architects of the time, Bernardo Morando, was hired to design the plans and supervise the construction of Nowy Zamość. Born around 1540, this engineer had been working in Poland since 1569. Before signing the contract for the construction of Zamość, he had already completed several commissions for King Batory and a number of Polish magnates.
